Orion Orbit Launch

On Dec. 5 2014, NASA’s newest spacecraft designed to eventually take humans to Mars, lifted off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on its first test flight. The unmanned flight tested critical systems including the launch abort system and heat shield, as well as how computer systems tolerated intense radiation in space. Overall, the mission was a tremendous success for the space agency.

Leo Kavanagh and Andre Paquette built an infographic and an animation about the Orion launch for Globalnews.ca.
